WALPOLE SNT – PLAIN‑CLOTHES FOOT PATROLS

PC Rana and PS Jennings from the Walpole Safer Neighbourhood Team were deployed on a plain‑clothes foot patrol within the W13 area, as part of ongoing crime‑prevention and hotspot patrols targeting areas linked to drug misuse and associated anti‑social behaviour.

Whilst patrolling, officers observed GILES, a known drug user, within Walpole Ward. Officers were aware that GILES is subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which prohibits her from entering Walpole Ward, being in possession of drugs/ paraphernalia.

Due to her presence within the restricted area and previous intelligence relating to drug use, officers stopped GILES and conducted a search under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, she was found to be in possession of drugs/ paraphernalia.

As GILES was in breach of the conditions of her CBO, she was arrested by PC Rana for breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order. The grounds for arrest were explained.

PS Jennings assisted with the arrest and subsequent investigative process, including ensuring the case file was being completed accurately, evidence was secured, and appropriate submissions were made to allow the investigation to progress further.

GILES was transported and remanded in custody for further investigation.
